20 Amazing Songs That Clock In At Under 60 Seconds

5. De La Soul - "A Little Bit Of Soap"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJEArOnEbcE De La Soul were pioneers in the alternative hip hop scene of the late 80s and early 90s. Their incorporation of jazz elements and other, unusual stylistic choices had many critics lauding their debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising, as an all-time classic. And while the album is a postmodern masterpiece that's as sonically inventive as it is socially conscious, there's at least one track on the album that keeps it from sounding as pretentious as my description just did. "A Little Bit of Soap" is a flat-out silly track that samples one-hit wonder The Jarmels (a doo wop group from the 60s) while slinging lyrics about body odor. It proved they could be charming...and just a little stupid. Which only endeared them more to the public.
