20 Amazing Songs That Clock In At Under 60 Seconds

16. Modest Mouse - "Path Of Least Resistance"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEEXIwpduJ0 Although some of the best of Modest Mouse's output has come to us in sprawling, long-form allegories and extended jams (hello, Lonesome Crowded West), they also have a knack for cutting through the fat when they feel like they need to. Their first collection of recordings as a band, Sad Sappy Sucker contains a ton of musical morsels, some of which are clearly the beginning stages of a brainstorming session that the band would never finish. Others feel like inside jokes that were never intended to be released. And then there's "Path of Least Resistance," a conceptual song about giving in when things get too hard. It shows a glimmer of the creative genius that Modest Mouse would eventually blossom into.
