If you're looking for validation of just how incredible the former Geordie lead singer's voice is, look to his many imitators.

His is the archetypal classic rock voice, screeching and lascivious in equal measure; a curious contradiction of pitch and machismo. And for all those copycats, it's an entirely unique creation.
