Not only was Roy Orbison one of the most immediately recognisable voices in rock music history, he was also one of the most hauntingly beautiful.

A rockabilly at his foundation, the diverse textures and tones of his voice still command hairs to stand on end, and you get the sense that had he sang the phonebook, he'd still manage to make you cry.
