Snoop Dogg might come across as more of a gimmick than a artist these days, but when he released his debut album !*$% in 1993 he was probably the best rapper on the planet. !*$% mixed Snoop's laid back flow and delivery with funky beats created by Dr Dre in the most perfect way possible, making G-Funk even bigger than it already was in the 90's. Snoop is arguably at his lyrical best on the album. Every track is a banger and there are no fillers, something you can't really say about any of Snoop's later work.

Regardless of how disenchanted you are about Snoop Dogg, Snoop Doggy Dogg or Snoop Lion's music these days, go back and listen to !*$% and you'll right back in love with his music again.
