Though Rammstein is a band who many either dismiss or adore based on their shock rock artistry, they have a ridiculous amount of musical talent, being so innovative that their debut album (1995's Herzeleid) required the creation of a new sub-genre of rock. Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness) mixes Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave), alternative and groove metal, electro-industrial, and techno.
On the subject of new music, Richard Kruspe (lead guitar/backing vocals) told fans that the new album is expected to release before Rammstein's next tour, which the band begin in May 2022.
In a bizarre tale befitting the band, the only person outside of their inner circle who has heard any of this round of new music is French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who Christoph 'Doom' Schneider played a track, transmitted from his recording studio to the International Space Station.
