20 Punk Rock Albums Turning 20 In 2020

19. The Movielife - This Time Next Year

On the final day of October The Movielife celebrated Halloween by releasing their second full length album. It's 12 tracks and 27 minutes of everything embodying the early 2000s pop punk mindset. The tracks are generally fast paced and short winded with most ending around the 2 and a half minute minute mark, the longest going just over 3 and the shortest coming in the form of their intro at only 27 seconds.

1999-2001 was a busy few years for The Movielife. This Time Next Year is sandwiched in between their debut full length released the previous year and their third album which came out just a year after. Despite the vast offerings from punk rocker's, the subject of this entry was probably the group's finest work.

The Long Island outfit's second CD was listed as number 41 on Rock Sound's "The 51 Most Essential Pop Punk Albums of All Time" list. For anyone looking for a superior recording of The Movielife's sophomore release This Time Next Year was re-released on Vinyl via the label "Mightier Than the Sword Records".
