Chris RockNotice that other London band you're buddies with have suddenly got 20,000 Facebook likes? Look closer and you'll see it appears that most of their new 'fans' are from the Middle East. Bands pay for internet presence, butter up family contacts to get tours and aren't above selling themselves for record deals. This is the music industry and if you want to be a part of it you're just going to have to accept how it is and move on.
1. Despite All Of This - Youll Still Have A Great Time
NBCWhile being in a band is tough and has its low points, there's a reason you do this in the first place - because you freaking love playing music. No matter what horrors you have to deal with or what questionable fashion choices you end up resorting to, there is nothing better than the feeling you get from playing music you love to a room full of appreciative people. If you still enjoy playing shows then keep it up, it really doesn't matter if you succeed or not - if you love what you're doing just go with it.
