Watching music videos seems to be a dying habit in recent years; when is the last time you actually saw one on MTV?

Back in the 90s, however, they were the height of popularity; so much so that Alicia Silverstone, now a film and TV actress, found significant recognition following her appearances in three of Aerosmith's videos.

Aged 16, the so-called "Aerosmith Chick" appeared in the videos for "Cryin'", "Amazing" and "Crazy" between 1993 and 1994; one year before she was nominated for a Best Breakthrough Performance award.

Who offered this award? MTV. Was it for her music video appearances? Of course not, that would just be silly.

Since her award-winning debut, Silverstone has played numerous film and television roles, including Batgirl in Batman & Robin and the disguised form of the antagonist of much-maligned Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Despite her cornucopia of more recent work, music video aficionados will most likely always remember her as the Aerosmith Chick.

I'm perfectly sane, or so the voices tell me. British, sarcastic, president of the European Slinky Association, have a tendency to lie when listing things about myself. 100% guilty of being a massive geek obsessed with Doctor Who, Harry Potter and video games. If you can't find me on the internet, I'm probably locked in a room playing Spyro the Dragon on my old PlayStation, or blowing everything to smithereens with a concrete donkey on Worms: Armageddon.
