20 Universally-Hated Songs That Are Actually Technically Very Good

11. Oasis - The Hindu Times

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp5zZ5cdu98 Oasis didn't translate well past the millennium, their particular brand of brit-pop and indie rock seemed to fall out of favour and the quality of the band's output declined too. Maybe it was the infighting in the band that led to their eventual demise, it's unclear, but it says a lot when even the Oasis fans hated this song. The song itself is based around Liam Gallagher's signature swagger in some attempt to recapture the magic of the early days of the band, though his performance implies at this point he really couldn't be bothered. Musically, Noel's lead guitar riff has a wonderful mixolydian quality to it, evoking the scale used in eastern and Indian music (hence the title, seeing as it's not mentioned in the lyrics at all). There is something to be said for the simplicity of the guitar solo too, which adds to its effectiveness.
