20 Unsigned Metal Bands Everyone Needs To Hear

9. King Leviathan

I like to refer to Brighton's thrash metal powerhouse, King Leviathan, as "Game of Thrones metal". With their slogan of "Worship the Old Gods" alongside a stage garb that involves battle-ready facepaint, hooded cloaks and absolutely badass-looking guitars, they definitely seem to fill the part, but it isn't until you blast out one of the band's EP's that you really feel like you're in one of Westeros' biggest battle scenes.

With mythical lyrics in such blood-pumping cuts as "King Under the Mountain", "Deathmarch", "Cthulhu" and "The Pale Riders of the Dead" as well as a thrash/power metal-inspired delivery, how can images like the Battle of the Bastards or Stannis Baratheon's attack on the Blackwater not come to mind?

Although little has been heard from the King Leviathan camp since their 2015 release of The Shrine, we can only hope they're cooking up something new, as we definitely need more mythical metal in the world.
