18. Nobody Accepts That There Are Alternative Genres
A lot of people associate guitars with only one thing: rock and roll. Guitars are almost synonymous with heavy rock music, and a lot of the time its forgotten they're much more versatile than that. Sometimes your guitar will come up in conversation, which then turns into an awkward discussion about the different types of guitar when you explain that you only have a classical guitar at the moment. While you can definitely get away with a bit of Katie Melua (is she still a thing?) on a classical guitar, Highway to Hell can end up sounding slightly flat. While this is a good reason to always have a selection of guitars on hand, the world needs to know that, genre-wise, the guitar is on par with the piano in being on of the most all-around instruments out there.
