19. Armored Saint's John Bush Almost Fronted The Band After Kill 'Em All

Even following the overwhelmingly positive reaction from the debut album - or perhaps because of it - James Hetfield was reportedly very self-conscious of his vocal abilities.

Armored Saint's John Bush was then asked to come in, but turned it down to stay with his band, eventually jumping ship to Anthrax.

Bush would eventually sing for a crowd alongside the band backing him up for a phenomenal rendition of The Four Horsemen at the band's 30th Anniversary show in 2011.
