13. Box Car Racer I Feel So
http://youtu.be/sPEGbxL9AoQ The punx and the pop-punkers may not often do the feels, but when they do, man, they sure know how to bring those feels. Ineloquent or not, that's just how heartbreak and the proceeding heartache feels, man, and when I listen to Box Car Racer's I Feel So. Well, s**t man, I just feel so. The lyrics may cut to basics but that's what hit them home so hard, as the music veers between the hurt and the pain, and the anguish and the angst of the song's lyrics wishing to be a better man, to be more free like the person who used them, unable to convey anything as straight to the point of feeling mad; used; cheap; lost; but still wanting to start over. As with many a breakup song, the message at its core is can we please make up. 12. Sonic Youth - Superstar
http://youtu.be/Y21VecIIdBI I'm not stupid, I know this is a Carpenter's song, and I'm not stating that this version is better than the original. However, when it comes to sorrow, the fuzzed out atmospherics, the fizzes and pops of a heartbroken, and yearning for this long since just passing through love affair. Sonic Youth have made this song their own, and as haunting and obsessive a love as any lover who listens to hear they're 'true love', in the hopes they come back this way again; where they told them they love them, more than likely just to get them into bed. 'Loneliness is such a sad affair.'
