http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1JYsbL4tm0 The only song on the list from Albarn's least favourite of his albums, 'Leisure', 'Sing' is still a favourite with the fans and has even made live appearances since Blur's big return. And for a song included as the tenth best Damon Albarn song, it's certainly more telling of what was to come from the prodigious Coxon. It is however the first glimpse of Damon underlining a sprawling epic with his crestfallen croon; the song grows into choral euphoria, and the lyrics beg their audience to "Sing to me". It was the first of many that could raise a singular heartbeat as well as a huge crowd, and though it clearly sounds like a product of its time, it's a piece of golden nostalgia.
