25 Best Thom Yorke Songs

3. Paranoid Android

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-w2wgceXUE Artist: Radiohead Album: 'OK Computer' Year: 1997 'Paranoid Android' is a six-minute epic detailing the panic and the vomit of a coked-up Californian club, and yet it reached number two in the UK charts sixteen years ago, making it Thom Yorke's highest charting single. And for that reason alone, the song deserves its spot on this list. It's way more than that, though. 'Paranoid Android' is beyond any tangible, evocative description. No words can describe the exact sound that five men created when they recorded the song, but let's just say (because I feel like I should really fill this space) that it's supernatural, charged with angst, childlike energy and the darkest of dark senses of humour, split into three courses: a shuffling, itching starter, a furious rock band let out of their box, and a mystical thunder storm. It's mind-bending, it takes you to every end of a visionary spectrum, and actually, it has a riff or two as infectious as anything on the rest of the album. But given that it's a whole-band effort more than just Thom, it sits at only number three. Sorry.
