5 Bands That Will Be Big In 2013

1. The Joy Formidable

joy formidable (This is where the title of the article should have been 5 Bands To Be Big(ger) In 2013) Formed in Wales in 2007 but now relocated to London, I present to you The Joy Formidable. Their live shows are some of the most immense I have ever been lucky enough to witness. There is not a fibre of their being that isn€™t being put full steam ahead when they play on stage. Their ingenuity on stage is incredible; you will never see the same show played twice. They transfer phenomenally to record as well, it is rare you hear music so well put together that the only fault you can find is that they don€™t have enough albums out yet so you are limited to what you can listen to. They already have a great CV. Slots supporting Sir Paul McCartney, Muse and The Foo Fighters. A top 40 charting album. Performing on The David Letterman. Their song being used for Hollywood soundtracks among other things. They would seem to have already made it big. Yes, yes they have made it big, but not big enough. A band of this calibre, a band that has a sound so distinct and unique to these shores need to be a household name. I€™m not talking music fans, but the little old lady down the street who knows who The Kings of Leon are or the dinner lady who has the latest Biffy Clyro record. These sort of people need to know The Joy Formidable. They still haven€™t had a charting single in the UK. This has got to change in 2013. Someone needs to shut up all of those people who complain there is no good music out there anymore, those people who are too lazy and too narrow minded to go out and search for the good music that is out there. But first we need to bring those bands that are just underneath the radar screaming to the top. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2BUEzdjfpY
