5 Criminally Overlooked Indie Bands You Need To Love

arts_menzingersweb

Everybody knows 'that' band, unknown to the world at large, yet for no reason that we can name. That band that we are proud is our little secret. Sometimes we revel in their (relative) obscurity, other times we genuinely wonder why they aren't being broadcast from the rooftops. Other times we pound walls and table after hearing Nicki Minaj on the radio, or just after being told that Kanye had hijacked another award. My personal trigger is hearing the words 'Chris' and 'Brown' in sequential order. However, we endure. At least some of us. A few. But despite our reasons for loving the unknown bands, all of us secretly habour fantasies of being the person who introduces their music to a friend. Our tastes being validated by popular consensus, or even just by somebody who you think is cool. In my personal history, there's been about 3 people who have enjoyed the music I've showed them. People who come in my car often bring iPods. So, why not use this opportunity to introduce a few of you to some bands that are truly special. While not all of you may enjoy them, that's fine, as they share some traits. But, if even a few of you take something away from this, it would have been a success. Just to be clear, I love punk bands, and that will show. Still here? Ok assuming you answered in the affirmative, here are 5 bands who I wish could be the topic of a group conversation.
