5 Returning Bands That Failed (And 5 That Nailed Their Comeback)

1. Nailed: Faith No More

Consistently one of the best performing acts in rock music, Faith No More were able to transcend the trends of the 80s and 90s to stand out as an artistic juggernaut, headed by one of the greatest and most versatile frontmen of all time.

With Mr. Bungle's Mike Patton at the helm, the band received a Grammy nomination with 1989's The Real Thing and would go on to release a string of heralded albums, before calling it a day in 1998, with a desire for each member to participate in side projects cited as the reason behind the demise.

FNM laid dormant until reunion rumours began to arise in late 2008. Although initially denied, a comeback tour for throughout 2009 was confirmed. Over the next few years, FNM would perform strings of live dates, in and around various side projects, before electing to finally begin work on a new studio album.

Having the track "Motherf*cker" as the lead single should tell you everything you need to know about the album and FNM, but the resultant Sol Invictus proved worthy to the Faith No More name, being rightly heralded as one of the best albums of 2015.
