31. Jamie T - Panic Prevention

Pete Doherty once summed up his band's sound thusly: "Oasis is the sound of a council estate singing its heart out, and The Libertines is the sound of someone just put in the rubbish chute at the back of the estate, trying to work out what day it was". A strong argument could be made to suggest that Jamie T is the Libs' cheeky younger brother gearing up for a night of mischief with his mates. Panic Prevention - Jamie's audacious debut effort - spins a collective yarn of bitter exes, shared cigarettes, laddish camaraderie, and desperate attempts to pull before the nightclub kicks everyone out. It's charismatic and endearing, but partially masks a sobering undercurrent of loss and regret. Decade Defining Track: Sheila
