20. Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5ED4_LOeEY The first and only solo album from the former Fugees singer was pure urban soul. Recorded largely in Jamaica, Miseducation is a street smart blend of reggae, R&B, hip-hop and soul. Hill's beautiful voice drips like honey, bouncing from serious rhymes to heartfelt balladry, all backed by pure, raw, almost bluesy, soul music. 19. Public Enemy - Fear Of A Black Planet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWTrAVLhbS8 Following up their politically charged smash "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back," Public Enemy continued to bring the noise on their third album. Backed by the sonic blasts of The Bomb Squad, and numerous samples, Public Enemy spat powerful rhymes, attacking social issues African-Americans faced, and empowering their community. An especially deep and complex rap album, Fear Of A Black Planet is considered one of the most influential hip-hop albums of all time. 18. Bjork - Homogenic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_VFWR7aB60 Combining beautiful, live instrumentation with dance club beats and computer-generated sounds, Homogenic is built heavily on tension. The two musical styles battle for space, heavenly strings rub up against reverb-drenched beats. Bjork's high voice drifts and floats through the musical battlefield as synthesisers and orchestras butt heads. He sings of love and lust, and delivers a beautiful and distinct album throughout. 17. PJ Harvey - Rid Of Me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg9V-ovK-rM A thunderous, stomping album, Rid Of Me was a furiously brilliant album. PJ Harvey summoned her inner rock goddess, channeled the seventies, and kicked her way through your speakers. A brutally aggressive album, at times even abrasive, Rid Of Me exorcises many of PJ's demons showing she can rock as hard as any men on this smashing album. 16. Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENXvZ9YRjbo Bursting out of the garage and onto college radio stations everywhere, Weezer knocked it out of the park with their smash debut. A brilliant blend of pop punk, surf rock and slacker fuzz, their debut was pure brilliance. Nerdy lyrics from Dungeons & Dragons references to Buddy Holly comparisons all blended perfectly with Rivers' masterful songwriting. Weezer had a little something for everyone, poppy hooks combined with furious guitar. "Say It Ain't So" is led by some gifted guitar fingerwork, and the album closer, "Only In Dreams," is eight minutes of garage rock bliss with just a touch of shoegazing noise.
