6 More Female Artists to Watch Out For

Ready for another dose of heedy feminine charms? You'd better be because these six ladies aren't stopping on their search for a mainstream breakout. In our party, we have 4 British songstresses and 2 Swedish sirens covering all the musical bases from 90's house and modern disco to classic folk and rock-inflected power pop. Prepare for the wacky, the wonderful and some words to be sung (obvs)... 1. A*M*E

Website:http://ameofficial.tumblr.com/ If a new, aspiring artist came up to you and said 'Hi, I'm on Gary Barlow's record label' (not that people introduce themselves via their place of employment but still), what kind of music do you think they'd make? Slightly droney, pleasant singer/songwriter mid-tempos yes? Nope, or at least not in the case of young upstart A*M*E (pronounced Amy). Born in Sierra Leone and now a London resident, A*M*E is looking to catapult herself into the charts by working with other young talents of the British scene. Hot producer MNEK has already worked with her, young London MC's are flocking to her door... it's all seems to be going her way so far and that's probably because there are very few other females like her on the UK scene. 3 songs have been released up til now perfectly showcasing the A*M*E sound but the other thing they all have in common are some gloriously cheap videos (Mr Barlow's a songwriter remember, videos - nah he'll pass). City Lights started off the whole shebang with a schoolyard chant chorus, glitchy backing vocals and powerhouse r&b verses with a garage edge sending you right back to the early 00's. Follow-up Ride or Die, featuring the most bizarre horse hat in existence and a whole lot of rocking horse in the video, is essentially reggaeton through a siren-laden electro-pop filter featuring A*M*E's distinctly London twang during the near-rap delivery whilst most recent track Find a Boy is her most chart-friendly sounding song so far with a stomping house beat and gritty rap section courtesy of Mic Righteous.
