7 Famous Album Covers That Were Censored For Ridiculous Reasons

7. Alice Cooper - Love It To Death

Reason For Censorship: Thumb-Penis. If there's one thing people get upset about, it's penises. Nobody in the record buying public seems to want them anywhere near their albums, even if those penises are entirely subliminal or merely objects that happen to look like penises. For an example, look no further than Alice Cooper's Love It to Death. At first glance, the cover is nothing more than the band posing together, looking just a bit daft. But when Love It to Death was first released, those with particularly keen eyesight noticed there was something off about the lower half of the photo. Something was definitely sticking out of Alice Cooper's pants. Not to worry, though, it was just the old "stick your thumb through the zipper" trick. And he made quite a lot of folks fall for it. Unfortunately, not everyone found the prank so funny, and the near-penis was airbrushed out along with Cooper's entire right arm, just to be extra safe.
