7 Problems Only Drummers Would Understand

When you embark on the long journey to rock superstardom, prepare to hear the same old stories about girls fancying the drummer. Quickly, you'll begin to wonder exactly where these women are, because they sure aren't making themselves heard.

Instead of being flocked by endless streams of women who adore the skill and precision required to play the instrument, drummers are usually found answering queries over the singer or guitarist's whereabouts.

That's right, you become something of a security member for the other band members when filling the role of drummer; nobody wants to discuss your thunderous playing (even though they've all been nodding along for the entire gig), they want to congratulate the guitar player on that killer solo.

This is true even in interviews. Watch any number of band interviews that aren't Metallica (Lars Ulrich is one major exception to this rule) and the drummer usually sits quietly whilst everyone else soaks up the acclaim like they invented music.

Meanwhile, the solemn drummer is a backup artist, one who needs to shut up more often during rehearsals.
