8 British Artists You Really Should Listen To

5. People, Places, Maps

ppmFavourite track: Splinter Hailing from Dunfermline in my home country of Scotland, PPM are a very solid Indie group that write songs with a maturity that belies their years. The lead vocalist Ryan McGlone sings in his native Scottish accent which is something I personally love to hear. They play with three lead guitars, meaning that they can piledrive your eardrums whenever the mood takes them but the guys are savvy enough to know that this is always the best route. Their first album's title track 'The Distance Tricked Us' builds slowly into something really special while 'I Get So Cold I Get Nervous' is a fantastically sweet, slow track that will grab your heart almost immediately. Incredibly catchy pop tunes mixed with easily singable lyrics, People Places Maps are not to be ignored. Song to get you started: Plans http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYnoHsHRl8I

In my free time, I can usually be found in my darkened living room, playing video games or watching movies. I tend to work a lot of night shifts so my out-of-whack body clock is built for such hobbies. Feel free to drop me a tweet at @callummcewan.
