Comparing the demo for the Foo Fighters' Lonely As You with the studio recording reveals one of the most drastic changes on this list.

The studio recording begins soft and lilting, with Dave Grohl's vocal melody carrying the listener into more upbeat territory. As the song progresses it gets a bit heavier but never strays too far in that direction. The demo, on the other hand, begins completely differently, starting with a powerful vocal scream from Grohl and never really letting up on intensity. Interestingly, the demo for Lonely As You comes from a collection of demos known as the Million Dollar Demos. These demos detail the entirety of the band's 2002 album One By One, and were the result of a great amount of conflict within the band, almost causing them to break up in the middle of recording.
