3. Jim Morrison - FSU College Promo Actor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idXytor1vSo Before achieving sex god status as the lead singer of The Doors, Jim Morrison was just your typical suburban, Beaver Cleaver haircut-sporting son of a military dad. And as this video reveals, it seemed he was on the straight track to a real respectable line of work (Plastics, anyone?). The video, a Florida State University promo video featuring a young, clean-cut Morrison, wouldn't be the last he'd make or appear in - although it would certainly be the last to not feature gratuitous phallic overtones, topless Wiccans, Hitler iconography and the like. While Morrison's stint at FSU was brief, it is also where he earned one of his first mugshots, and where his love for filmmaking and rabble-rousing started taking shape. Morrison found a better fit at UCLA's film school, where he made two films (one called 'First Love' and another called 'Obscura') and graduated with a bachelor's degree, before pursuing a life of sex, hard drugs, rock 'n' roll, whisky, and indecent exposure; all in moderation of course. Although he did fully commit himself to the role of rock frontman, Morrison never abandoned filmmaking entirely. A few years before his death he produced a film called HWY: An American Pastoral about a hitchhiker-turned-killer, a theme Morrison previously touched upon in the Doors song "Riders of Storm."
