8 Incredible Songs That Scarily Predicted The Future
8. Snoop Dogg Predicted He'd Be Charged With Murder
Murder Was The Case is a 1994 soundtrack album performed by rapper Snoop Dogg. It's the soundtrack to an eighteen minute short film directed by Dr. Dre and Fab Five Freddy, and details a fictional version of Snoop Dogg's life, death and subsequent resurrection. The album was wildly successful, with the single What Would You Do being nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. But it's the title track that's of particular interest here, featuring the repeated hook Murder, murder was the case that they gave me. Not long after the song was released, Snoop Dogg was indeed embroiled in a murder case. The victim was Phillip Woldermariam, a member of a rival gang who was shot by Snoop's bodyguard. Snoop was charged too, owing to the fact he was the person driving the vehicle from which Woldermariam was targeted. It took him three years of relentless legal wrangling in order to achieve acquittal, during which the lyrics of Murder Was The Case surely haunted him.
