8 Musicians With Bizarre (And Fascinating) Alter Egos

1. Watkin Tudor Jones Becomes A Ninja

Die Antwoord is one of the strangest and most fascinating mainstream musical projects currently active. The South African rap-rave duo consists of characters Ninja and Yolandi Visser €“ even if you haven't heard their music, you may have seen them performing as themselves in Neil Blomkamp's 2015 film Chappie. Ninja is the alter ego of Watkin Tudor Jones, an actor and record producer from Johannesburg. Before Die Antwoord, Jones was the vocalist of a hip hop act called Max Normal, and was also part of The Constructus Corporation. It wasn't until 2008 that Jones created Ninja, and has since committed to this alter ego in practically every media appearance since. The Ninja persona is so convincing, in fact, that many people aren't even aware it's a character.
