8 Radio Edits That Completely Changed The Song's Meaning

5. Christina Aguilera - "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)"

The Song You Heard On The Radio: All she wants is you. She wants you to come on over and do stuff to her body (here's your gal, Mr. Iglesias) and you are more than happy to oblige her because, let's face it, she didn't look like she'd yet developed a raging case of herpes at this point in her career.

The Edit: It's rare for a radio edit to be more overtly sexual than the original album version, but that's exactly the case for (soon-to-be) X-tina's 2000 hit single. Here's a small sample of some lyrics that aren't in the original, and were added exclusively for the radio:

I'm not just talking about your sexuality But I can't help myself when you put your hands on meIt's paradise when you and I get close, get tight One on one, I wanna go all night

And then there's the raspy, cooed "rap" verse that puts forth fewer innuendos, but makes up for it with her overt "do me" voice. The album version is actually a much gentler, innocent look at romance. In fact, it very well could've come out of 4th-grade Christina's poetry book.

The new, racier lyrics initially caused Radio Disney to ban the track, so Aguilera went ahead and recorded a second edited version for them. Because playing the original, already-edited album version would have just been silly, apparently.
