3. 'Liar Liar' - More Inventive Than Da Vinci
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbvpuiUylJk For those who only made it past the first couple of songs on the album, the album is not just straight dance mixed up with acoustic country and it's also not just the blend of genres that are inventive. The whole album is like nothing we've heard before. There are no other artists experimenting so successfully with sounds on a commercial level like this today. Avicii has not only created this niche, but is totally rocking it too. While the song themes are rather standard, the songs in 'True' present them with a new angle, with each song reflecting Avicii's humour, boldness and eccentricity. It's also not just the album itself that's inventive. True to the character of the album, the marketing campaign around the release of the album was unique, taking to Twitter to encourage fans to tweet a revealing fact about themselves with the hash tag #TrueReveal. A glass cube containing the artwork for the album was set up by the marketing department, and the more users that tweeted, the louder a track off the album was played using the surrounding speakers to see if the cube would smash. The bass never reached the decibels necessary to literally shatter the cube, but the campaign got Tweeters hyped, with over 100,000 tweets about #TrueReveal popping up over Twitter.
