9 Albums To Play When Doing Creative Work

9. John Tesh €“ Sax On The Beach

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPq2opnBzKs Before you roll your eyes, know that this is probably going to be the easiest entry on this list for the average person to use as background music. Tesh originally came to the notice of most Americans as the long-time host of Entertainment Tonight from 1986 to 1996, plus his commentary on gymnastic events at the Olympics. He also has a syndicated radio show playing adult contemporary hits. Looking at his large catalog of music, you would be inclined to put him down as a religious music artist. But there are three albums in his catalog that fit our criteria: Sax By The Fire (1994), Sax On The Beach (1995) and Sax All Night (1997). Most of the tracks on these three albums are sax-infused cover versions of popular songs (for the 1980s-1990s), with a surprising range covering everything from Peter Gabriel to the Police; Eric Clapton to Madonna. And they are very good; the sax players Tesh employs make their music almost sound like a human voice. This is good general background; light and airy and not very distracting. Other contenders: Kenny G, Candy Dulfer, Mannheim Steamroller
