9. Ariana Grande
Let's start with a softball. "Speak... UP!" That's a phrase Ms. Grande's teachers probably got really tired of repeating in school. Because while her voice can actually sound quite beautiful when she opens up and lets the air out of her lungs, that's something that happens all too infrequently on her records. Try listening to any Ariana Grande song without simultaneously reading along with a lyrics sheet. If you're able to decipher more than half of the words, then congratulations! You have bat-like hearing! But for those of us with standard, human ears, Grande's inaudible breathiness usually overshadows her Mariah Carey-esque vocal acrobatics and makes it damn near impossible to respect her as a vocalist.
