3. Blackbird's Solo Is Guitarist Magazine's Greatest Of All Time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uv-EZx-qI_8#t=327 Although last year's Fortress was a very progressive and forward-thinking album for the band, it's up for debate if they're ever going to be able to top their sophomore effort, Blackbird. With the album itself one of the most solid hard rock records of the last 20 years, the title track is a ballad-turned-rocker that always marks a high-point in any gig. The solo is essentially a two-parter, opening with Myles' blues background screaming out some huge bends before Tremonti's thrash metal influences usher in the perfect mix of natural aggression and learned technical proficiency. AB fans knew right away it was a landmark in their career, and we're all thankful magazines with enough credence and industry weight as Guitarist continue to recognise the band's efforts for what they are.
