Recorded by English pop sensation Limahl to accompany the cinematic release of this celebrated German fantasy, it was covered by Swedish Power metal band Dragonland on their 2002 release, Holy War. Founded in late 1999, Dragonland had already begun to create waves within the metal community, most notably throughout Europe and Japan with their debut release, The Battle of the Ivory Plains, before they decided to include this tribute to Wolfgang Petersons adaptation of Michael Ende€™s timeless and classic novel on their second album. Although releasing two standalone albums in between, both the first and second releases combined with their fifth record Under the Grey Banner make up a concept album anthology dubbed The Dragonland Chronicles. With a story consisting of fantasy elements such as elves, monsters, dwarves and the chosen one destined to ascend to greatness, this cover of the Neverending Story is a fitting inclusion within Dragonlands magnum opus.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
