Arcade Fire's 15 Best Songs

Arcade Fire Arcade Fire are pioneers of our time. That much has always been clear. Possibly the most intriguing and talented band to come out of Canada in the last 10 to 20 years, they've become revered for their eclectic compositions, world-weary but uplifting demeanor and love of all things orchestral. In a game-changing career spanning just over 10 years, Arcade Fire have released four albums, all of which have been released to universal acclaim, and they're widely considered to be one of the greatest bands on Earth today. So really, who are we to argue? It seems like an impossible task to select just 15 songs by Arcade Fire to label their "best", but that's what we're here to try and do today. So, flip the page to begin. These are our 15 favourite songs by our one favourite band, from across 10 years and 4 spectacular albums - we'd love to know what yours are too.

15. Here Comes The Night Time (from Reflektor, 2013)

Reflektor 'Here Comes The Night Time' serves as a sort of respite at the halfway point of the first act of 'Reflektor' - after the incessant kinetic storm of the first three tracks, this slick, slower track gives our dancing shoes a bit of a break. Between distorted guitars and steel drums, 'Here Comes The Night Time' is, according to the band, inspired by the plight of refugees fleeting Haiti for the United States and the hostility they are met with, and it contains a definite Caribbean slow-jam influence. It pushes on confidently and grows into a swirling, half-chaotic uptempo section towards the end. 'Here Comes The Night Time' is more stripped back than much of the material on 'Reflektor' and as such, all the far-flung, various influences for the album come bubbling to the surface here.
