Eminem is one of the greatest rappers of all time - a relentless, no-holds-barred hit-maker who has proven time and time again to be one of the best lyricists to ever pick up a mic. He is ingrained in modern pop culture and helped shape a generation.

But it's not just his lyrical ability and charisma that makes him stand out. The numbers speak for themselves - he is one of the best selling music artists of all time, has won countless awards and has been producing hit and after hit since the mid-90s.

As of this writing, he's got eleven studio albums under his belt, including his debut, which came out in 1996. His most recent effort was released early this year, out of the blue, and proved without a doubt - as every one of his records has done - that Marshall Mathers is truly unstoppable when he gets in a booth and lets loose.

The following list will focus on his solo albums only, so his work with D12 and Royce will not be included, as awesome as they are. From the less critically well received to the albums that shaped an icon, here are all of Eminem's albums, ranked worst to best.

11. Infinite

Eminem's debut album serves as living proof that the rapper never had trouble with his lyricism or wordplay. From a lyrical standpoint, Infinite as good as anything he has released since his proper break-out a few years later, as Eminem batters the catchy beats and simple but effective production with brilliant lines and endless energy.

The issue with Infinite, though, is simple - there's little of the Eminem we all know and love in it. With the album, Eminem is just rapping, and whilst it's great to hear (and has aged surprisingly well), he had yet to create his Slim Shady persona and lean into his more controversial and daring themes. It's also short, with little time to get into what he's putting across.

It's clear listening to it that Eminem was at the time a force to be reckoned with, with seamless versatility and enthusiasm, but there's just not enough of the rapper's usual flare to make it rank near his other records.

Best songs: Backstabber, Infinite, 313.
