Every Arctic Monkeys Single Ranked Worst To Best
14. Da Frame 2R
Pronounced The Frame Tour, Da Frame 2R is the frenetic bonus track from Favourite Worst Nightmare. It’s the kind of rollicking, rock song poised to accompany Batman and Robin on a mission, and didn’t deserve to be pushed aside as a bonus track on the album.
Opening up like You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Staring Straight At Me with more production, the song is unapologetically 'Monkeys and a blast of energy. The pièce de résistance is undoubtedly Nick O'Malley's fat bass line but it's shouldered by Alex Turner's fantastic wordplay, Jamie Cook’s abrasive guitar and the crisp, punchy drums of Matt Helders. The song is about a man so cool and well versed in attracting women that he swings around with ease, Turner writes with sarcasm as he lyricises that even 007 and Bruce Wayne would be intimidated by him.
Like most old school Arctic Monkeys songs, Turner takes the time to poke fun and this time his attention is directed at a certain type of womanising man who is simply too good to swing and miss.
