Every David Bowie Album Ranked Worst To Best (By Guitar Power)

14. Scary Monsters (1980)

Robert Fripp is the guitarist on this one and his contributions bring a quirky edge with a fondness for audio manipulation via the use of delay and effects.

Featuring a couple of decent singles in 'Scary Monsters’ and ‘Up The Hill Backwards’, it was a half-decent Bowie album that could have been significantly rawer if the bootlegged demos were any indication of what had originally been conceived.

Bowie seems to have a love/hate relationship with guitar heroics, having hired numerous top gun guitarists, but rarely letting them unleash the kind of fire power that brought them to prominence.
