Reeves Gabrels from Tin Machine-era Bowie is on board for this one. The album was conceived as the soundtrack for a computer game, ‘Omikron’. Few Bowie fans would ever profess to love this album, a perennial favourite in bargain bins within a few months of its release.
Bowie can’t be denied the opportunity to experiment and develop interests, but as is often the case on the later albums, the final result is insubstantial in terms of memorable songs.
