Every Pearl Jam Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Who Ever Said - Gigaton

At time of writing, Pearl Jam's most recent studio effort is 2020's Gigaton, which brought to an end a personal record six-and-a-half year drought between albums.

Taking its name from a unit of measurement for weight, Gigaton was well-received amongst the faithful and the wider music community, who were more than happy to welcome PJ back. The first thing they would have heard after such a long hiatus was this song, the grammatically dubious Who Ever Said.

A tune about fighting for what you believe in, Who Ever Said features some fantastic lyrics, including a brilliant chorus of "Whoever said it's all been said/Gave up on satisfaction". The voice delivering those lines unfortunately belongs to a 55-year-old Vedder, who sounds less like a cool rock star and more like a dad giving it his best in a tribute band.

His voice isn't bad, it's just different.

It's not a knockout by any stretch, but Who Ever Said proves that Pearl Jam are far from past it.
