Every Queen Album Ranked Worst To Best
13. Made In Heaven
15th studio album (1995); UK #1; US #58
Curiously enough, Queen's last studio album, released after Freddie's death and composed almost entirely of previously cut songs or unfinished material, ended up as one of their longest-running records. Seen as more of a treat to the fans than anything else, Made In Heaven shows that the surviving bandmembers did little to tamper with the work they had recorded with Freddie, some of which had already featured in his only solo album, Mr. Nice Guy.
Still, Made In Heaven, which almost plays out like a greatest hits collection with no prior hits, manages to be the kind of thing most rock or pop acts would dream of crafting. Though perhaps some more thought could have been given to the tracklisting - Heaven For Everyone would have been better off saved for the closer, a fitting wrap-up to Freddie's career; instead, that honour goes to an untitled 22-minute track, mostly instrumental, which resulted from the experimentations of producer David Richards.
Key Tracks: I Was Born To Love You; Too Much Love Will Kill You; You Don't Fool Me
Fun Fact: The aforementioned album closer only plays for the first few seconds on the LP edition of the album, but it goes into the run-off of the groove on the disc - meaning, if the record player does not have an automatic stop, it will play those first few seconds indefinitely, looped over and over.
