Franz Ferdinand - Right Thoughts Right Words Right Action: 10 Tracks Reviewed & Analysed

2. Evil Eye

franz-ferdinand More percussive and sultrier than the previous, hooks come from left and right (definitely not an intentional boxing reference, but it works) and simply pummel. (okay, I lied, it was a pretty great reference). Much like the previous track, the bass line is beyond likable, nearly infectious. "Some people get a freak out of me /Some people can see that I can see / Some people wanna see what I see / Some people put an evil eye on me" reads the chorus. RATING: 4.25/5

3. Love Illumination

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ooq23i-QGBM Raucous. That's one immediate word for this one. Love and illumination are two terms often not applied, but together Franz Ferdinand showcase it in a track where the vocal melody is matched by a bass harmony, which sounds too good together. Yes, it's been done before, but here it sounds perfect with the track's intentions. Take one look at the lyrics and I'm sure you'll decipher it. Definitely one of the more nostalgic tracks if you love older ones, but it still feels like new Franz. RATING: 4/5
