2. Feuding With Nirvana

Why was he calling for Axl while on stage? It was later revealed that backstage, Cobain's wife, Courtney Love, had made some sarcastic comments towards the GN'R singer about being the godfather of her child. In typical Axl fashion, he told Cobain to "keep your b***h on a leash." That's all it took. At the show, things almost came to blows, with two rather large bassists, Duff McKagan and Krist Novolselic, squaring off at one point, but cooler heads prevailed. There's a theory that Rose was also upset that Nirvana refused to open for GN'R, but he would later profess to be a huge fan of the band, and as usual.
