JLS And 6 Other Talent Show Rejects More Successful Than The Winner

3. Carly Rae Jepsen

Jepsen Everyone knows Carly Rae Jepsen as the girl who finished third on the 2007 series of Canadian Idol, don€™t they? Well I had no idea about that up until recently, but it€™s true. She lost out to eventual winner, Brian Melo, who went on to have minor success in his native country. Carly released her debut album in 2008, and it failed to make any kind of an impact. Then came the lead single, Call Me Maybe, from her second album, Kiss, and suddenly the whole world knows who she is. The ridiculously catchy track was the best-selling digital single of 2012, with digital sales of 12.5 million worldwide. It went to number 1 in 19 different countries worldwide, and was a top 5 hit in many more.
