2. The College Dropout

Whenever anyone ranks Kanye's albums, his first one always comes in the top two. This happens for good reason; the debut of Yeezy fundamentally changed the rap landscape in almost every way. A genre usually associated with violence by the media was looked at through a new lens, with West discussing issues that affected an entirely different type of people.

The production was revolutionary for Kanye due to his imaginative use of sampling. His meticulous ability to find the perfect sample for every track paid off fantastically. The soulful sound of his instrumentals matched up well to the more heartfelt and relatable subject matter of his raps, particularly on songs like Family Business and We Don't Care.

It's hard to say anything about this album that hasn't already been said. The album has cemented its place as one of the greatest albums in the history of rap and will be one of the defining albums of that era. Despite such acclaim, there is still one more Kanye album that beats it...

I'm an English Student at The University of Surrey, and will be writing a lot about Films, Music, Comics and pretty much everything on the site. Opinions are subjective so everybody is right, but some people are just more right than others.
