Led Zeppelin: Ranking Their Studio Albums From Worst To Best
4. Led Zeppelin II (1969)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TM2QxqnJLQ I have no doubt that some will be bewildered that I put Led Zeppelin II so low on the list. This is after all, the album that has 'Whole Lotta Love', 'The Lemon Song' and 'Heartbreaker' on it. If there was ever an album that shows Zeppelin's sexy side, it is clearly this one. The band is still on top form and the all the songs are incredibly tight and easy to listen to- from the first pulsing riff of 'Whole Lotta Love' to the pastoral folk of 'Ramble On' to the bluesy harmonica of 'Bring It On Home'. And let's not forget 'Moby Dick'- where John Bonham gets to stake his claim for the best drummer in rock history. The fact is, for many bands, if they had released Led Zeppelin II, there would be no contest, it would be No. 1 with a bullet. The fact that it has come in No. 4 is testament to the brilliance of the four men behind its inception.
