2. Everything (1997)
http://youtu.be/wj89IfVoIzU While the decision to place Everything in second on the list came after painful days of assessment, the track itself is a timeless jam with near meditative effect. Its a liberating symphony fused with a medium paced solo that escalates at points, and could well be one of Limp Bizkits most gripping sounds from their double platinum album
Three Dollar Bill, Yall$ (1997), and/or of all time. The slight reverb to Dursts voice on the subtle scratch sounds creates a wave of escape for a solo escapade. Everything is an anthem best enjoyed during moments of introspection and spiritual regeneration. The first lines reflect the captivating feel of detachment Durst powerfully depicts. Furthermore, while power trips are numerous in the music industry, Everything seems to have been forged through a one of a kind moment of perfect synchronisation - blessed with (what might be) a zest of good luck from the musical gods. While many might not be the Limp Bizkit, rock or metal type, Everything is one of the tracks that arguably deserve credit for its soulful tendencies and perfectly restrained rising mood. Its an expression of perfectly controlled emotions in a performance any audiophile should have their ear drums accustomed to. Everything is a fuel to the spirit: an uplifting and intelligently assembled arrangement of sounds from the depth of the dark valley of the Bizkit. Everything is the proof of Limp Bizkits mastery of the darker waves with poignant instrumentals that add to a dark and meditative odyssey everyone should experience.

1. Hold On (2000)
http://youtu.be/ZA4q1jGIks8 Hold on is the thirteenth track on
Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000) and features Scott Weiland, known for his vocal work with massive acts such as the
Stone Temple Pilots and
Velvet Revolver. Weiland has also been ranked in the Top 100 Metal Vocalists by Hit Parader, and his calibre is on show in this brilliant piece alongside Fred Durst. The ballad encapsulates the tragedy that life can sometimes turn into to most bearers of a pumping heart. And this piece seems to vaguely relate to the words of French lyrical poet, Geoffroy Mussard (most commonly known by his stage name Shurikn Chang-Ti), where in the track La Lettre, a timeless and inspiring piece packed with all the wisdom of the world (that will unfortunately be forgotten by many), he portrayed the frailties of even the toughest of men. The song itself is a letter addressed to a dying mans unborn grandson, and features the line:
Et les jours où tu seras en colère après elle repense s'y, T'en auras jamais deux comme ça, retiens ça, Et n'écoute pas les cons qui pense qu'un homme ça ne pleure pas, crois moi
Which translates to:
And the days where youll be furious with her, think about it, You won't find another like her, remember that. And dont listen to the fools who think that a man doesnt cry, believe me
What might be worth taking note of is the similarity in the philosophy in regards to the huge difference in style, culture and nationality. Which brings us back to ponder over the point mentioned earlier: of how music is an international language that overcomes many of the invisible barriers that separate us as a race. The admirable ingredient in Hold on is the height of expression both Durst and Weiland reach, while keeping the tempo and tone to perfectly support each other in this brilliant fusion. A timeless stunner: a trip to the valleys of loneliness, with an evocative and healing escape. The reverbing beats and the guitar lead accentuate the soulful and melancholic voices into a mist of penetrating and captivating sonic waves geared at the hidden depths of one's spirit.
