1. Walk On The Wild Side
Based on a number of Andy Warhol's 'Superstars' that he met during his time as a fixture at 'The Factory' (Warhol's New York studio), Reed gives insight into life as part of the group and the detailed, but disjointed histories that lie within. The colourful timbre and upbeat backing vocal line help to shape what many have described as the pivotal song of Reed's career. 'Walk On The Wild Side' is audio nectar. There are no two ways about it. Musically it's just so listenable; the seductively sliding bass, the light-footed drums and Reed's nonchalant vocal delivery all gel together so well that you barely notice the cast of individuals that he's weaving together over the top of it all. 'Walk On The Wild Side' is like distilled coolness. You can't help but smile when the chorus kicks in. 'Doo do doo, doo do...' RIP Lou Reed 1942-2013
