Metallica: 10 Criminally Underplayed Songs You Need To Hear

1. Bleeding Me

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftV_XepIwpo Say what you will about the mountains of powered substances the band were riding around on in the 90's, when Hetfield decided to sit and really wrestle with his inner demons for the sake of another song, it occasionally produced something absolutely spectacular. With tattoo-worthy lyrics that describe his battle with addiction like "This thorn in my side is from the tree I've planted", it just aches a real humanity that comes through in the chorus. Hetfield's passion on this track is just so incredibly powerful, when Kirk's solo starts boiling up near the close of the song it's a perfect execution of everything the band do better than anyone else. 90's Metallica was experimenting with a great many things, and even though some of the tracks that came from the Load sessions are far stronger than others, this particular highlight is one of their greatest achievements.
